Transform Your Kitchen Cabinets

Step-by-step guide to painting your kitchen cabinets.

Materials Needed:

For Prep

  • FrogTape® Painter's Tape
  • Marker
  • Degreasing Cleaner
  • Wood Filler
  • 40-50 Grit Sandpaper
  • 120-220 Grit Sandpaper
  • Drop Cloths
  • Brown Paper Roll

For Painting

  • FrogTape® Painter's Tape
  • Oil-Based Primer
  • 100% Enamel Paint
  • 2.5-in. Paintbrush
  • 4-in. Foam Roller
  • Paint Tray
  • Paint Gloves
  • Plastic Kitchen Wrap
  • Step 1 : Fill in any holes or cracks in the cabinets, then remove cabinet doors, hardware, pull knobs, drawers and shelves. Cover appliances, countertops, backsplash and walls with drop cloths.
  • Step 2: Sand every surface that's going to be painted. Vacuum the area and wipe everything down with a damp cloth to get rid of any dust.
  • Step 3: Apply FrogTape® Painter's Tape to adjacent surfaces to prevent paint bleed.
  • Step 4
    Apply primer to all areas to be painted and let it dry.
  • Step 5: Paint cabinets with 100% enamel paint formula. Dry completely, then add a second coat.
  • Step 6: When the paint is completely dry, put your cabinets back together.
