Ticking Stripe Wall

Brooke from All Things Thrifty gave her master bedroom a makeover with this DIY Ticking Stripe Wall. This wall creates the perfect calming space to take a load off after a hard day.

  • Different height strips of Green FrogTape Multi-Surface Painter's Tape on a wall next to each other with a tape measure measuring the total length. The total length shows that it is 10 inches long.

    Getting Strated

To get started, measure the wall you want to paint the ticking stripes on. Then, decide how many stripes you want in your pattern and how many sets of stripes you want on the wall. (Brooke chose five stripes in her pattern.)

  • Green FrogTape Multi-Surface Painter's Tape on a wall vertically, directly next to one another. There is a set of hands pulling every other strip down off the wall

    Tape Off

Starting in the exact center of your wall, make a vertical pencil line with your level. Then, apply rows of FrogTape® Multi-Surface Painter's Tape vertically on your wall until you have 10 strips. Next, take off every other row of tape to expose the wall where you will paint.

Don't forget to tape off your baseboards and ceiling!

  • Woman on a step ladder painting a section of a wall white with a roller. There are two sections of the wall taped off with Green FrogTape Multi-Surface Painter's Tape

    Wrapping up

Finally, fill your foam roller with paint of your choosing and paint your first coat. After the paint is dry to the touch, apply your second coat.

Tip: Remove the rest of the FrogTape® Multi-Surface Painter's Tape when your paint is still wet.

Then, enjoy your darling ticking stripes!
