Laundry Room Glow-Up with Color-Drenching

For this project, Jonisha Holmes from @jonishaholmesdesigns used the popular color-drenching painting technique to refresh her laundry room into a bold and functional space.

    Plan & Prep

To kick things off, Jonisha prepped her space by cleaning the walls and patching any holes. She also selected her color of choice for a bold, color-drenched look: Tarpley Brown by Benjamin Moore.

    Tape It Off

Using FrogTape® Advanced Painter's Tape, Jonisha taped the edges and wall areas she wanted to keep clean. She then used FrogTape® Delicate Surface Painter's Tape on cured walls to protect the trim.

    Color-Drenching

To achieve a fully immersive color-drenched effect, Jonisha used three finishes of Tarpley Brown throughout the room: flat paint on the ceiling, satin on the walls and semi-gloss on the baseboards.

    Adding in Functional Hardware

With the painting complete, she introduced functional upgrades by installing brass hardware and building a custom pedestal to elevate the washer and dryer for easier access.

To complete the transformation, Jonisha styled the space with thoughtful decor and laundry room essentials, creating a moody yet highly functional space.
