A Big Personality Makeover to a Tiny Office

Imani, from @imaniathome, transformed her space into a vibrant home office by flooding it with bold color, adding statement wallpaper and layering in stylish decor.

Supplies Needed:

  • Yellow FrogTape Delicate Surface Painter's Tape being applied to where baseboard trim meets the wood floor
    1

    Clean & Prep

Proper paint prep is everything. Start by sanding the walls until they are smooth. Then, clean with a degreaser.

    Add Wallpaper & Tape

Using manufacturer guidelines, Imani installed the peel-and-stick wallpaper.

Once applied, start by covering the edges of the wallpaper with FrogTape® Delicate Surface Painter's Tape. Use this to protect the baseboards as well. However, to protect the doors, Imani recommends FrogTape Advanced™ Painter's Tape.

    Cut In

Using a mini angled brush, Imani cut in around the room. Color-drenching is the goal, so she especially concentrates on the ceilings, corners and baseboards.

    Roll It Out

Apply paint to the entire room. Color-drenching is an easy paint trend to achieve. But if you’re painting a light color on top of a light color, it can be very difficult to see if you missed a spot. Imani recommends starting and finishing in the same corner of the room.

    Remove Tape

While the paint is still wet, remove the tape and observe your hard work!

Now that the hard part is done, have fun designing your space!
