Preparation

Before diving into the painting process, prepare the room or area. Begin by removing furniture and any potential obstacles. Cover floors or carpets to protect them from accidental splatters. Once the space is cleared, use a laser level and measuring tape to mark areas for taping.

Use FrogTape® Delicate Surface Painter's Tape to carefully tape off wall edges and other areas you want to keep paint-free. Take your time to ensure secure tape adhesion. After taping, run a plastic card along the edge to seal it properly. Confirm the surface is even and ready for painting using a regular level.

First Steps

Ensure you have all necessary materials within reach before starting. Carefully tape off your desired design, focusing on achieving precise lines. For textured walls, use a plastic card to burnish tape edges for enhanced adhesion.

Once the tape is securely in place, begin the painting process. Apply even strokes with a brush for consistent coverage, or use a roller with light, even pressure. Apply a second coat if needed. Remove the FrogTape® while the paint is wet for crisp lines. Opt for high-quality paint and primer for lasting results.

Add a Pop of Color

Start by painting the pattern with your current garage wall color to establish the base of your accent wall. Introduce your chosen accent color to bring the design to life.

With your accent wall complete, add finishing touches. Choose art pieces that complement or contrast with the accent color. For a bold look, opt for pieces in a bright contrasting color. For a subtle effect, choose pieces in a similar shade. Consider adding wall sconces, mirrors, or shelves to tie the look together.
