How to Paint Sharp Lines on Textured Surfaces

The kit includes:

  1. FrogTape® Textured Surface (link to product page)
  2. Patented PaintBlock® Technology Edge Sealer with applicator. It’s a super absorbent polymer that reacts with water in latex paint to instant create a barrier that won’t let paint bleed through.

Step 1
Apply FrogTape® Textured Surface by pressing down into the texture, eliminating gaps. Then, firmly run a damp cloth along the tape’s edge to activate the PaintBlock® Technology.

Step 2
Shake the bottle of the liquid edge sealer, then remove the cap and foil seal.

Step 3
Tightly attach the brush applicator to the bottle and remove the clear cap from the applicator.

Step 4
Using the brush applicator, apply the edge sealer generously along the tape’s edge. Use overlapping circular or back-and-forth motions for sufficient coverage. You’ll be able to see the solution as it dispenses—it should have a milky appearance.

Step 5
Once the tape’s edges are covered, let it dry for 15 minutes before you paint.

Step 6
Remove the brush applicator, place the cap back on the bottle and wash the applicator with running water, separating the bristles. Dry with a cloth and always cover your brush with the applicator’s protective cap when it’s not in use.

Step 7
When your edge sealer is dry, your surface is ready to paint.

Step 8
When the last coat of paint is dry to the touch, you can remove the tape.

That’s how easy it is to get super sharp paint lines on a rough or bumpy surface.
